The Power of Singing

We hope this site will encourage you to work on perfecting your singing, take up singing, keep singing, or even listen to singing.

What does “Santosha” mean?

Santosha is a Sanskrit word that means divine contentment or deep happiness.

We believe that singing can be a good start to finding that in our lives on a regular basis.

This song was written by Rich McKinney, a beautiful singer who lost his vocal cords to agent orange exposure in Vietnam. It is performed by the “Voices” of the Santosha Voice Group: Joseph, Heather, Joyce, & Susan. This song is featured at the end of every episode of the Power of Singing PODCAST.

Listen to this…

…and then she began to sing, and when she began to sing, there was no one who really heard her who was not then glad to be alive. ~Hafiz (14th c)

This website is alive with practical and powerful stories, songs, opportunities, and inspiration about singing. Singing is the most beneficial and powerful free activity on the planet. Singing and speaking well is just as beneficial for the singer as it is for the listener. It may feel useless to raise your voice in song, but it is just the opposite. Whether you are alone or in front of an audience, sing … and see what happens to you; sing … and see what happens to everyone around you.
