Morning Coffee II – Top 6 Surprisingly Helpful Websites for Singers
There is a wonderful habit of getting a cup of coffee (or beverage of your choice) and scrolling through the latest news and updates in the singer world before getting started with your day. Since I love coffee, I call it my Morning Coffee time. It’s pretty simple. I have a list of bookmarks on my browser that I click down daily to make sure I don’t miss anything big happening in the field of singing. I look at all types of singing now – though I confess, I used to only look at the classical blogs, websites, and thought leaders. I hope you’ll put SantoshaVoiceGroup.com onto your Morning Coffee time list right at the top. Meanwhile, I’ll give you my favs in this several part series. If you find some that you love, please let us all know – I’m constantly updating this list. I hope you will too.
Today I’m reviewing and listing my: Six Surprisingly Helpful Websites for Singers.
1. Patreon
So, you want to start to get some fans? Put your music up here and tell everyone you’d like them to subscribe so you can have a little monthly income to buy groceries. I have a page here: www.patreon.com/susanmohinikane. Please come and subscribe to me and get lots of access to me and my music. You’ll love it. But more than that, go ahead and put yourself up there. You can do it!
2. Indie on the Move
This is a free site with information on all the performing venues near you by address. It gives contact info and even reviews. As we are all booking our own concerts these days, this site is a good one!
3. Bandzoogle
Forget making your own website. Just go on this site and create it cheaply and be part of the best place to find musicians. I’m thinking about doing this even though I do already have a great website for my music. It is the place to go these days.
4. Bandlab
OK, so you’ve never recorded yourself. Go ahead and get started now. This site is a simple place to start. In another post, I’ll recommend some gear you might want to get a quality recording, but you can start here with your laptop’s built-in microphone. Just take a big breath and do it.
5. Female Entrepreneur Musician
This site is run by Bree Noble, a great human who is really out there. She does free webinars, a great podcast, is totally connected and current with everything musical on the web. She is especially helpful for female musicians but she really does serve everyone. Check her out in all her glory.
6. Produce like a Boss
Kris Bradley is another great thought leader in our field, like Bree Noble above, she is everywhere and giving out (and selling) really helpful information for us all now that we are in the post-Covid world of music (I wish we were really completely post-Covid but you know what I mean, right?). Her free webinars and paid courses are totally worth it. She really knows what she is doing!
